One year and counting!!!

I can't beleive there is only one year left! I'm so incredibly excited and I know that this year is just going to fly by!!! So far, I have completed or partially completed:

Church booking (just need the deposit, sending it next week)
Reception hall booking, deposit done
Photography, deposit done
My dress, half down, half to go
Marryn's dress, done
My shoes, done
Invitations, bought, just have to print
Favours bought and partially put together
Bouquets, stuff bought, partially put together
I bought wings for my "costume" tonight...I'll wear my dress for the ceremony and these awesome feather angel wings afterward for our costume ball reception

At this point there isn't really all the much else I can do right now and I think I really have a head start and things won't be so stressful at this time next year!

This time next year I will be a Mrs.!!!!

Favours and Flowers

Well, I've decided what to do for our favours!!! I had a candle party last night and when you host one you get credit for free product...so I'm going to use my credit to get a bunch of tealights and then wrap one up for each guest with tulle and ribbon and a tag that says: "To thank you for coming and sharing our night, And to light up your pumpkin on Halloween night!" and on the back it will say: "Amie and Jeremy 10/30/10"

:D I'm so happy and excited that my favours are going to cost me so little!!!

I also decided that we're all going to carry balloons instead of flowers...it's WAY less expensive and a really unique idea!! We saw it at the bridal show we were at on Sunday and it's just SO cute! I figure I'll make a bouquet with small balloons for me to carry and then my wedding party can carry one single helium balloon down the aisle. :)

We also won something from a travel agency when we were at the bridal show on Sunday...not sure what it is yet but I'll update after we pick it up tonight!

Update

Well we made the first half of the deposit for our reception venue yesterday...it made it VERY real!!! I'm so excited to get married :D

Today while I was at Walmart with my best friend/Maid of Honour, we were browsing the shoe aisle (because she is a shoe whore. :)) and she found some really super cute white shoes that were on sale for $5! So, I bought my wedding shoes today!!!! Cute right?

Also, we most likely have our minister as well. A friend that I grew up with when I was about 6 years old and lived just behind me...her brother (who I also happened to grow up with but he was older) is a minister and so I had asked on my facebook where you get married when you aren't religious/a particular religion because it seems the churches want you to jump through hoops and she mentioned that she'd ask her brother if he would do it and he said he would! So we just have to hammer out the details and what not but I don't forsee any issues with it. I'm excited that it's someone who's known me for over 20 years!

That's about it right now...and unless I come across some other amazingly good sale/find I probably won't update again until after the bridal show which is September 20th. I'm hoping to win/find some good stuff there!!!

Ta ta for now!

Reception Venue

We're planning on putting a deposit on the venue we went and saw on Thursday...it's a really nice hall where we can have the ceremony and reception. Our date was booked so we'll be changing it to either October 30th or November 6th depending on what pricing we can get...we may be able to get the off season pricing for the 30th because it's so close to Nov 1st (which begins the off season). I'm just waiting to hear from the sales guy Rick and then we'll be signing the contract...it's really starting to happen!! I'm so excited!!!

Full Wedding Mode

It's that time...time to start interviewing caterer's and visiting potential venues and ceremony locations. I can't BELIEVE it's only 15 months away!!

We've decided on Chocolate Brown for our main colour with hints of orange, cranberry and deep yellow. Rustic, earthy...very fall. I'm sooo excited we've decided to go with this theme. While helping my good friend plan her wedding we both LOVED that theme and it's something that has always stuck with me and now I get to use it in planning my own wedding!

Last weekend we visited this place to check out a barn that holds receptions. It would DEFINITELY be the place if it weren't for the fact that the bathrooms are across the parking lot instead of in the barn. I was disappointed but on Thursday we're going to see this place and meet with the sales guy. We'll be discussing menu options and pricing and then if all goes well and we like everything and it's within our budget (which we don't really have completely set yet) then I'll be putting a deposit on it next month.

I'll post again after we meet with him and update how it went!

Neglected

Yes I know this blog has been severely neglected but there just hasn't been anything to post about the wedding! I promise, things will pick up in the next three months...there is less than a year and a half to go now!!

I'm also happy to report that we got our flower girl!! I'm so excited :D

Our next step is wedding funding which should take place in and around September so we'll see what happens between now and then. Probably not a whole lot because I can't really do much until there are funds to do it with!

Stay tuned, this blog will be happening at some point in the future!! :D
